“Impressions and pictures taken whilst tiptoeing around a graveyard in South Amherst. Some lean forward, head bowed in resignation, gazing at the bowls of the earth. Others lean backwards, head staring upwards into the heavens. Like devout worshippers of times of old, some send murmurs to the red inferno of the deep, whilst others blow whispers at the star dappled sky. Can you hear them ? They moan and groan, the sandstine stiffens their limbs, and in pain they defy gravity. They need straightening, but they have yet to face their maker before their granite faces are righted. Some look down in disgrace and shame, and hope to be forgiven. Others smile with glee, contemplating life’s plenitude. But all with eventually topple and sink into the devouring mouth, this soft absorbing skin, this phagocyte on the face of the earth’s crust. In fact Eric, these stones appeared to me as a natural representation of the aesthetics surrounding Death. Some sort of symbol of the huge array, and spectrum as in panoplie of man’s efforts to come to understand what it is. The fact that this symbol manifested itself in the shape of a fan, eventail, took on further meaning….Love Kim “.
